Chasen By Suikaen

Chasen (Matcha Whisk) handcrafted by the legendary Suikaen in Takayama, Japan.

This Dark bamboo shin style Takayama chasen is handcrafted by Mr. Yasaburo Tanimura from the Takayama village. Each chasen is produced slowly (takes about an hour to produce) and is made with great care; the mark of a true craftsmanship.

Mr. Tanimura is 25th Generation Chasen Master, head of Suikaen since 1970. With an inherited technique of more than 500 years, Tanimura Suikaen is one of the few remaining multi-generational families in Takayama producing extremely high quality bamboo tea accessories using the traditional techniques.
